Return to Momoyama
The Spirit of Genkaku Sadamitsu

Guided by the late Zen Master Daiki Tachibana, Sadamitsu Sugimoto has dedicated his life to the theme "Return to Momoyama." His work seeks to revive the authentic spirit of 16th-century Japanese tea culture—the golden age of Wabi-sabi—when legendary masters like Sen no Rikyu and Furuta Oribe redefined Japanese aesthetics.

From the rugged power of Shigaraki to the soulful depth of Raku ware, his ceramics are a modern bridge to the past. Deeply influenced by the philosophy "Art is Zen,"

Greetings
For over 50 years, I have pursued the theme of "Return to Momoyama"
through my work in Shigaraki, Iga, Raku, Korai, and Mino ware.
Today, I finally feel that I have reached a point where my pieces can stand alongside the masterpieces of old.
Even now, my journey continues as I take on the new challenge of recreating the beauty of ancient Chinese celadon.
Sugimoto Genkaku Sadamitsu
I would like to introduce excellent pieces among them.
